Finding the Dell out of warranty support phone number is not so hard but finding what time they are open is not so easy. The Dell in-warranty support is a 24 hours 7 days a week operation, but not Out of Warranty support. Or so we found out when we needed repair for a clients Dell Latitude E5550 laptop, that had an expired warranty.
If you need repair for your Dell computer and the warranty has expired, you have a couple of options. You can contact a local computer repair service to perform diagnosis and repair, or you can do what we do, contact Dell.
We have used Dell in-person computer repair services on several occasions and have never been disapointed. The service functions just like Dell’s regular warranty service. The difference: They diagnose the issue by phone, you are quoted a price, you pay with a credit card, then the service is dispatched. Then a Dell certified technician contacts you regarding a scheduled time for the appointment. They stand by the work they do and typically get the issue resolved quickly.
You get what you pay for
The cost for their service is generally costlier than a local repair shop, but when you have a valuable client with a machine down, that needs a new motherboard, you will be hard pressed to find a better vendor, than the manufacturer itself. They know their products best and keep in stock the parts that are known to be problematic.
